Meals for the Needy

Every day from the 5th through the 21st of each month, a free meal is served at our Parish Mid-Level Hall. These nutritious, tasty meals are served to the residents of the shelter, as well as to needy families in the Soulard area, who may be on limited or fixed incomes. Our guests may number 230 men, women, and children each day.

Serving times are Monday through Friday from 5pm – 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 1pm.

Volunteers from Sts. Peter & Paul and from many other parishes take turns preparing and serving the meals. Sts. Peter & Paul is responsible for the 9th day of each month. Some of our parishioners also assist on the other days of the month, too.

If this rewarding work appeals to you, please feel free to join us! Just present yourself in the kitchen and announce, “Can you use another pair of hands?” We will cheer you, tie an apron on you, and let you have your choice of jobs – cooking, serving, cleaning, visiting with our guests, or even sampling the fine cuisine! You’ll feel good when you leave!

The meals program is managed by Peter and Paul Community Services. You can find out more at the link.
